VR TOOLBOX, INC.
ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF THE VR WORX VERSION 2.1 "BUILT
FOR OS X."
Macworld Expo, New York, NY - July 18, 2001 -- VR Toolbox, Inc.
today announced the release of The VR Worx 2.1 for Mac OS X. VR Toolbox
will unveil and demonstrate The VR Worx 2.1 at Macworld Expo New York,
in booth #2038, at the Jacob Javits Center, from July 18-20. The VR Worx
is VR Toolboxs suite of VR authoring tools for QuickTime.
Built natively for Mac OS X, The VR Worx 2.1 takes advantage of all the
core technologies of Apples revolutionary operating system, including
the elegant and intuitive Aqua user interface. Distribution of The VR
Worx 2.1 for Mac OS X will begin immediately, in an electronic format.
It can be purchased directly from VR Toolbox and from all VR Toolbox
resellers
worldwide.
"VR Toolbox, Inc. is excited to be releasing The VR Worx 2.1, the
companys first product to be native for Mac OS X," said Walter
Neals, Vice President for Marketing at VR Toolbox. "Mac OS X combines
beauty, power and performance into an extraordinary operating system,
and we are proud to be among the numerous developers to support it."
"Featuring an incredible graphics engine, with OpenGL for spectacular
3D graphics, and QuickTime, the Internet standard for multimedia, Mac
OS X is the ultimate platform for high-end creative applications,"
said Ron Okamoto, Apples vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations.
"The VR Worx 2.1 takes advantage of Mac OS Xs advanced graphics
technologies and we are delighted to see VR Toolboxs commitment
to our platform."
The VR Worx is VR Toolbox's award-winning suite of authoring tools for
QuickTime VR, and the new version 2.1 has more features than any
other QTVR authoring tool on the market. It creates cylindrical panoramic
movies, object movies and multi-node scenes (a.k.a. virtual tours), all
in the QuickTime format. A few of the more interesting aspects
of the tool include the ability to create an object movie, which has
a panoramic
movie as a background. Version 2.1 has the capacity for transitions within
a multi-node scene, like standard wipes, dissolves, explodes, and the
like to actual linear video as a transition. Although The VR Worx 2.1
does not yet have the ability to compose Cubic VRs, it can link Cubic
VRs together, as well as to cylinders, objects, stills, and linear video
within a multi-node movie.
