TOOLBOX, INC ANNOUNCES FORMATION OF NEW COMPUTER SOFTWARE COMPANY
IN THE QUICKTIME VR INDUSTRY.
Pittsburgh, PA, July 16, 1998 -- The formation of a new computer software
company, VR Toolbox, Inc., was announced today. VR Toolbox, Inc.
will focus on the development and marketing of software tools for QuickTime
VR. The company's aim is to produce the most powerful, highly advanced
and intuitive QTVR programs ever created. VR Toolbox, Inc. has
acquired this technology from its creators, Florida-based Econ Technologies,
Inc.
Pittsburgh-based VR Toolbox, Inc. promises to be an exciting, important
and influential addition to the Immersive Imaging industry and its emerging
technologies.
The VR Toolbox slogan, "industrial strength tools for QuickTime VR"
aptly conveys the degree of precision, power and professionalism the company
promises to deliver in its products. VR Toolbox will target all segments
of the Immersive Imaging market, including professional photographers,
web developers, multimedia producers, educators and hobbyists. Its entire
product line will be available for both Windows and the Mac OS.
The initial line will include four products, VR Pano Worx, VR Object
Worx, VR Scene Worx and The VR Worx. VR Pano Worx creates
QTVR panoramic movies, VR Object Worx generates QTVR object movies and
VR Scene Worx allows you to design and produce QTVR multi-node scenes.
The VR Worx offers the entire suite of tools, the perfect solution for
the user who requires all that QuickTime VR has to offer. The first round
of products from VR Toolbox will be targeted for the Mac OS. The Windows
versions will be available by the end of the year.
To accomplish its mission, VR Toolbox has brought some of the most talented
minds from the world of QTVR, into the heart of the company structure.
VR Toolbox's financial strength comes from the same source as that of
its sister company, Emery Manufacturing & Equipment, Inc.,
makers of high line object rotational devices and hardware for the immersive
imaging photographic professional.
Walter Neals, Vice President of Marketing for VR Toolbox, Inc. comments, "We'll be showing a preview of our upcoming programs, next week at
SIGGRAPH 98 in Orlando on July 21, 22, and 23. Emery Manufacturing &
Equipment will also have their object rigs on hand; both the ObjectWorker1000
and ObjectWorker2000 will be there. You can see it all in Booth
Number 1051. We expect an enthusiastic response from all attendees who
have an interest in QTVR. If you won't be there, check out our new web
site, http://www.vrtoolbox.com."
D. Proni of Econ Technologies, the technology's creator says, "We're
producing what we consider to be the best QTVR programs ever. The arsenal
of tools that VR Toolbox brings to the user is awesome."
Again, Walter Neals, "VR Toolbox provides the right tool for everyone
developing QuickTime VR. From the professional photographic studios to
educational institutions to multimedia production houses, all users will
now have the best tools for their purpose. The creative opportunities
are unlimited."
"We're very excited about the relationship VR Toolbox has with Emery
Manufacturing & Equipment," adds Howdy Emery, "Every object
rotational device in the ObjectWorker series will come complete
with a custom software package from VR Toolbox, bringing a total solution
to the Immersive Imaging Professional."
Apple Computer, Inc. is the developer of QuickTime VR as an integral
aspect of its QuickTime media layer. Through Apple's vigorous support
of the technology's adoption as an industry standard, QuickTime is succeeding
in becoming the cross-platform standard, worldwide. And now, with Apple's
recent release of QuickTime 3.0, QuickTime VR v2.1 and streaming QuickTime
Plug-In v2.0, that standard's acceptance is being achieved. QuickTime
VR is an extension of Apple's basic QuickTime technology and supports
two different types of views, QTVR panorama movies and QTVR object movies.
Interest by the Press in reviewing VR Toolbox products and/or including
the products in relative articles and features will be given high-priority
support. Please contact VR Toolbox at Company Information.
Distributor, Reseller and Dealer inquiries are welcome.
